World Sustainable Energy Days

The event entitled ‘World Sustainable Energy Days’ will be held from 27 February to 1 March 2013 in Wels, Austria.

On Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon urged member countries to act decisively to tackle the “growing crisis” of climate change, as international negotiations kicked into high gear in Doha, Qatar. He notably insisted on the melting of icecaps, rising sea levels, land degradation and drought in various parts of the world.

In Europe, we have seen a year of extreme, record-breaking weather that has served as a timely reminder of the need to invest now to soften the consequences of climate change. Although Europeans are facing an unprecedented economic crisis, industry, businesses, domestic consumers, policy makers and community leaders alike are willing to tackle this issue.

The event will bring together various stakeholders to further raise the growing awareness of green energy andefficiency. It will be an opportunity to showcase some of the latest technology developments and initiatives arising from across Europe.
