It was founded in 1943 as a result of the far-reaching vision and the commitment of Eugenio Garza Sada and a group of businessmen who drew up a charter for a non-profit association: Enseñanza e Investigación Superior, A. C.
It is a private, non-profit, independent educational institution with no political or religious affiliation. In order to function as an educational institution, it operates under the statute of an Independent University. They are currently an essential part of the Tecnológico de Monterrey System.
Its work –and that of all of the campuses- is supported by civil associations made up of a large number of prominent leaders from across the country who are committed to quality in higher education.
We also enjoy nationwide community support for the raffles organized by Sorteo Tec, with proceeds earmarked for the expansion of the institution’s scholarship program as well as its investment in infrastructure.
This is compounded by the generous contributions of a large group of donor companies and individuals and of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Friends and Alumni Philanthropy Network, which support a scholarship program which helps students with living expenses.
